The AAT Accounting Qualification gives you practical, internationally recognised finance and accountancy skills that can open doors for you in any industry across the world.

AAT is open to everyone – you don’t need previous qualifications or experience, and you can work at a pace that fits in with your lifestyle. Whether you’re looking for your first job in accountancy, or simply want to enhance your existing accounting skills, AAT will give you the training you need.

Our AAT courses

Students can enrol on individual units or the full level in any combination of course dates & times offered. A discount is offered on enrolment for the full level. Course fees include all resources and one exam sitting per unit. Financial assistance may be available via external agencies (details can be found via AAT website).

Tuition is intensive with use of quality Kaplan materials. Day classes are 9.30am-2pm & evening classes are 4.30pm-9pm. Tutorial support is offered to all students as necessary. Expert tutor direction & support is aimed at first time passes. Practice assessments are available and exam sessions are offered on a flexible basis during the course(subject to availability).

Level 2

No qualifications are required to start any of the level 2 courses. However students who have not achieved a level 2 in literacy or numeracy may be required to undertake some extra tuition in this area.

Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting

The full course covers book keeping to trial balance level, control account reconciliation, basic costing, working effectively in accounting and computerised accounts. For full syllabus details please see the AAT website.

Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping

The course provides an introduction to the principles of manual double entry bookkeeping, control accounts and journals to trial balance level. For full syllabus details please see the AAT website.

Level 2 Foundation Award in Accounting Software

Throughout the course you’ll learn a number of practical skills, which you’ll be able to put into practice in the workplace straight away, from using a computerised accounting system to enter accounting transactions to producing a range of reports.

Level 3

The majority of students will have been successful in either the level 2 foundation certificate in accounting or the level 2 foundation certificate in book keeping. However students are assessed on an individual basis following our equality & access policy, and may be given permission to start their AAT studies at level 3. Students who have not achieved a level 2 in literacy or numeracy may be required to undertake some extra tuition in this area.

Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting

The full course covers preparation of accounts for sole traders and partnerships, using costing information for decision making & control, indirect tax, professional ethics and spreadsheets. For full syllabus details please see the AAT website.

Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping

The course develops existing skills and knowledge to an advanced level for anyone wishing to pursue a career in bookkeeping.  On completion of this course you will understand advanced bookkeeping principles and concepts, preparation of financial statements for sole traders and partnerships, and issues around indirect tax (VAT in the UK) in business.  All of this will be learned in the context of the ethical issues that a bookkeeper may encounter in their professional life. Level 4

Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting

The full course covers costing for control, decision-making & planning purposes, drafting & analysing published accounts, review of accounting systems, taxation and cash & credit management. Note that whilst there are 4 mandatory units & a choice of 2 from 5 optional units to gain the full level 4 qualification, it is possible to undertake extra optional units for the purposes of gaining further knowledge for use in the workplace. Enrolment

Courses must be paid for in full upon enrolment. We reserve the right to cancel or vary any courses without liability to Severn Financial Training Ltd or its staff. Any cancellation has to be confirmed in writing at least 7 days prior to the start of a course and a refund of 90% of the fees will be made. No refund will be given when cancellation occurs within 7 days of the commencement of the course. Any membership fees for the institute administering the qualification or any exemptions requests are the sole responsibility of the student.
